So, I was playing Kenshi…

So, I was playing Kenshi, when I noticed faction squads, and even animal herds, were attacking me on sight when they weren’t supposed to, because I didn’t attack them, and they were simultaneously trying to talk to me while also attacking me. I spent hours furiously reconfiguring the mods I had installed, until I just cleared them all out.

That worked, but I also realized something else: I had built my base in a suboptimal location which had limited amounts of several resources, plus was susceptible to attack from multiple angles and by multiple factions (including 2 bandit clans) which all cross that area and harass my people.

I decided, since I only had a relatively new account and small base, I started a fresh new account and ended up finding an amazing location that was rich in ALL types of resources, plus is much more defensible on cliffs overlooking a main road/travel path. I am now about 50% the way to rebuilding what my previous base’s progress was on the other account.

So, what did I learn from this that applies to real life? It’s easier to change a past decision to utilize new information, than it is to maintain a decision that is no longer optimal.
