An equipment rental enterprise startup asked us if we could develop a maintenance management system for the purpose of tracking inventory, geo-locations, and maintenance tasks done for equipment provided and fulfilled by their company.
With this in mind, we developed a prototype mobile app designed with functionality in mind to
- manage maintenance status of equipment
- monitor location of equipment
- keep accountability of maintenance staff (who fixed which machine and when)
- track parts used to repair equipment
- track inventory of parts
- track statistics of equipment breakdown trends, most used parts, cost analysis, etc
The founder and CEO was impressed with the prototype and our initiative to include extra functionality for features which would provide additional value, and we were asked to lead the IT department of the company.
